Jersey floral tops

Ah the simplicity of jersey.

So quick.

So much easier to fit.

So much more comfy!

After such a busy summer, I went on quite a jersey kick. I’ve already shown you one jersey dress, here are 2 very simple jersey tops and I have a jersey maxi dress still waiting to be photographed. In fact, these two tops are made from the remnants of that dress. Hence the centre front seams. I’m calling it a design feature.

Top 1 is the Deer and Doe plantain top, without sleeves and with an added collar. This is a great basic pattern and it’s free – bonus!

I sewed the collar from some embroidered cotton scraps I had in my stash. I sewed it into the shoulder seams as I hate floppy collars.

Top 2 is the Seamwork Savannah with cotton lace for the straps.

The lace does flip away a bit, but it’s fine as a casual top. Or I could use it as PJs.

Stay tuned for more easy jersey makes!

  1. Fab tops, the collar is a great feature and I love the lace straps. I have so many remnant bits and I need to start using them up.

I'd love to hear what you think...
